Sally did a bad, bad thing (well actually 3 of them)

Ok, so I did a bad thing today. Actually, I was going to say 2, but now as I am telling YOU before I tell DrMr, that is a third bad thing. In my favour though, I DID try to call him and unusually he has not called me back.

Ok Bad Thing Number One
My lovely friend Misa bought a most beautiful quilt cover. Like BEAUTIFUL and I coveted it muchly. I am one of those people who does not like to buy the same thing her friends have. Cause that is your thing, not my thing, your lucky find. ALSO I MUST CONFESS, I have a weakness for manchester, I LOVE new sheets and covers, maybe because I like being in bed so much and am not in there enough. Misa tells me where she bought it and where it is on sale.

Bad Thing Number Two
So I make a dedicated visit to this shop. I told DrMr that I wanted to buy it so I don't think it should be a surprise if it suddenly turned up in our house, and hey sales are good to support in this rocky economic crisis, right? Yup. It was not on sale anymore and despite my jovial comments that because it WAS ONCE on sale, they should give it to me on sale and hey isn't my baby cute? No dice.

I bought it anyway, $200ish for cover and 2 pillow cases. From the joint finances.

BUT LOOK AT IT, IT'S BEAUTIFUL.

It's the kind of bedspread that looks better unmade and all inviting to get into. It's like a cheaters quilty patchworky doona cover. I won't blame you if you need to buy one too. And yep, that's our super fancy bedroom. I obviously spend A LOT of time and money decorating.

DRMR reads this blog, so HI DRMR, I HAVE A SURPRISE FOR YOU WHEN YOU GET HOME AND HEY I LOVE YOU MORE THAN THE MOON AND STARS AND WE MAKE BEAUTIFUL BABIES TOGETHER. KISSES, KISSES, KISSES. I MADE SUCH A LOVELY DINNER FOR YOU.

That wasa good good thing because it's beautiful and snuggly and makes you want to spend more time in bed and DrMr should like that!

Oh, I'm with Curly Pops. 'Look DrMr,..It just makes me think about going to bed...' Argument over.

He'll never take it off again.

And I love it too. Manchester yumminess.

I am with you! you had to buy it. Had. To. No. Choice. At. All.

...we have one joint account then one account each of our own- play money that we do not need to justify how we spend... it works well... he doesn't ask anymore...because I say- how much did that case of beer cost?

It's beautiful. And just to make you feel better, my friend Lucy went to Douglas and Hope once and impulse purchased a quilt there, roughly the price of a house downpayment and then some!

DrMr, just in case you're not home yet and you haven't yet seen the surprise thing up close, the right thing to do is smile sweetly and say "Honey, I can see why you absolutely had to buy it because it's beautiful and it was once on sale and even though it wasn't when you spent $200-ish from our joint account, how could you not, when we can wake up in the morning to something as dreamy as that keeping us warm?" OK? It's worth a kazillion brownie points.

Thank you ladies. It is good to know that I have a support group ready to enable me in my bad behaviour hooray! :-)

Cath, we have it exactly the same, but I went above and beyond my fortnightly play money. Eh.

Tania, I didn't quite get that, I did get an overall "if it makes you happy, then that's fine". ALMOST as good.!

Kris, you NEED it too. NEEEEEEED it.

I woke up at 5:30am for work this morning and I did not want to leave the confines of my wonderquilt. Cause that is what it is, a WONDERQUILT.

Hey, I never thought of using my blog to gently break the news of an accidental but totally necessary purchase.
Which it was, obviously.
You only have to take a look at those beautiful colours and patterns to see that.
Hope the dinner worked its magic, if the quilt alone didn't quite do the trick...

I don't think that $200ish is too bad at all for a patchworky wonder quilt! I think the morning smiles are well worth it, and if you can start the day with that the rest is gold - no?

I LOVE IT. Can I join the same-quilt-club!? Where's it from? You did not tell us the shop! I have been looking for a quilted doona cover, not content with just plain covers or a cover with a quilt on top, but a quilt-cover! Do they have different styles and colours? Did you know if you were to make it yourself not only would it take ages it would probably cost a lot more? There you go, another good reason! :)

Jules - Bed, Bath & Table at Knox and yes they DO have other designs, but that one is best best best. That is not even taken from the best angle, I STILL love it as much as I did when I bought it. ACK. I was looking for the same thing too, couldn't believe I found it!!!

Oh, I will have to have a look at the brand and let you know, will make it easier.
